I guess the real problem I face is that I can't really offer any solutions. I know the basics of design (Contrast, Repition, Alignment and Proximity (nice acronym, huh), but I know nothing about HTML and can't offer any real help.
Jeeze, I visited that site and thought I was back in 1994 there for a second! I believe that is called dirt style or it would be if the design were intended to be ironic. Won't someone think of the children?!?! Dude, seriously, I should take them on as a mercy case. Tell them to sign up with smugmug, I'll do their front end AND I'll hook em up with a custom smugmug site so they can have some pics of the kids. David, think of the photography revenue to be had eh
Y'all don't want to hear me, you just want to dance.

You don't need to know HTML. Just use Photoshop to put a couple of sample page
designs together. Your kid's counselor can turn that into HTML.
Hey look! Flashing graphics!
