    This is one my first attemps at a night shot. I set up my camera on a tripod and opened the shutter for 30 seconds. The light trails are from interstate 15. This is pretty much how the camera spit out the pic. I haven't had time to edit. Thanks.

    If I remember correctly it was the kit lens that came with my D3100.

    I like the detail you can see at the top of that mountain, especially the cloud. Was this moonlight or was it late-late sunset?

    It was late late sunset. After the sun went down. Full pic has even better detail. I cropped it in picasa.
