Some egrets in flight from the backyard. :D Shot wide open at f/2.8 with my trusty 200mm at 1/2500....ISO 200. Think they are kind of soft/blurry and noisey/grainy. The AF might have been having trouble with all the varying light and shadows?? Or there's another reason. :):

Incoming!!!

..:huh.......and a little blue for the "boys" . Not sure what's going on...in some of these? Blue tint to wings. Didn't boost saturation...but did do some burning. Hmmm Didn't notice at first...until I posted them here?? :dunno :scratch
What did you Nikonians do??:uhoh
I've gone overboard again... sorry. Thanks for looking.

They look fine to me Mike. Excellent series. thumb.gif Shame about that dark, icky water you have. We will have to send you to the coast to see some fine blue water. rolleyes1.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

A couple of the images do have some areas on the wings that appear grainy to me. I think some of it is digital noise, some of it may be burned out highlights? Not certain. I can see it the most in the first image. Maybe some of it is from JPEG compression? Is it still visible in the original images on your site?

For the most part though they are great captures. Very nice action shots. thumb.gifthumb

Thanks guys. I'm not sure what's going on ..with some of these? Do some of the birds looked blue tinted/tinged?? I'm somewhat color blind...and when I look away from the computer screen..I catch a hint of blue color in the white of the birds ...out of the corner of my eye. What's the deal with this ? Didn't boost saturation. Maybe too much burning? Hmm tried to bring out some detailing in the highlights. Just not real happy with these...despite decent captures for the most part. Wish the neighbors would move their fence and house. thumb.gif:D

Maybe I'll just turn them all into B&W ?

    Thanks again for looking.

Mike, these shots are great. I think they look just fine. I think the first one is great. I like it. I know the egret is in flight but it almost looks like a fancy schmancy umbrella. Yeah, I have a weird sense of creativity and a very weird artistic eye. I like all of them, however. Great work. thumb.gif
