Sventekoz's Adventures at Herdsman Lake
Armed with the new 50-500 lens, I took my son to Herdsman Lake here in Perth - in search of birds.
The afternoon started uneventfully enough:
Then we saw one of these signs. Duly noting the message, and because it was a very warm day, we kept an eye out for snakes.
Just as well! First, I spotted a Tiger Snake in the water.
And then my son saw a Dugite crossing the path.
Luckily, it was then back to spying birds.
All in all, it was a very pleasant couple of hours - even with some snakes grabbing our attention. I'll have to keep going back to try and catalogue all of the birds listed as living there. Thanks for looking.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
