Fires in Simi Valley

Well, this is what I woke up to this morning. I'm in a big rush to get the kids off to school as well, so no processing or thought to much of anything other than just getting these up really quickly.


Not a great view, but literally the view from my front steps.

    More info here.

    It's over 7,000 acres, I heard that at one point 70 homes were threatened.

    Less than 5% contained.

    Another large one here in Riverside County that is only about 25% contained.

    Gotta feel for the firefighters. It's in the high 90's and bone dry.

    Bit of a worry David. What do you blokes do...water bomb ?

    Everyones back burning like crazy here as the season is starting.

    Very creepy. I've only been in LA a couple of years and still have trouble seeing whole hillsides on fire so close to major population centers.

    I know just how the residents must feel, hope they get thru it ok. we lost our house several years ago just after boxing day in a bush fire

    I can't imagine. But our house backs up onto open space. If the brush fires were behind our house, we may very well end up in the same boat. Sorry to hear about your loss. A house and its contents are so very personal. What a tremendous loss.

    We were lucky in one regard, we downsized several years before the fire as all the kids (5) had moved out. All the personal stuff that help make a family what it is photos letters etc were in storage. Thanks for fixing the link
