Micro Express Computers

Anyone have any experience with these computers?

My PC is painfully slow when trying to use PS, LR and my album software when all open at once (and to be honest sometimes even with just one open at a time) so I started looking for a new computer and found this company.

It seems a little to good to be true at about $1600.00 (can't remember exactly) the 26b model has the i7 2600K (Sandy Bridge) with overclocking, 16 GB DDR3 installed expandable to 32 ect.

They sent a reply to my email asking if I ordered everything correctly for my needs.

They recommended downgrading the motherboard (which saved $100.00) since I ordered one beyond my needs, and I liked that.

I did a lot of searches for this company but didn't find much aside from some PC World reviews Etc. And a few customer reviews- some good some not back in 2004??

I just am curious if anyone knows of any experiences with this company and their products.

As a way to bump your thread and offer some experiential commentary, I went through what you seem to be asking about. Different company, but FWIW, some years ago I bought a PowerSpec desktop from MicroCenter in Downers Grove Illinois (which have stores in many states) and it was very inexpensive for what it was. I was stumped why so cheap too, but having almost no advertising to promote the brand does keep prices at bay and they can jam in some pretty nice specs and components. The best part is it wan't bogged down with adware or promo-ware programs ("crap ware") that many big-name PC computers seem to be festooned with. Don't know if MicroExpress is a similar situation, but if it is, you pretty much can't go wrong with semi-no-name machines.

That's way more than I spent on my desktop. I think the only difference is that mine is a Pre-Sandy Bridge i7, and has only 12GB of RAM. Still, that's almost $1000 more than I spent.
