Northern Flickers

These guys have become regulars in the back yard. I think they are finally getting accustomed to me and will not bolt the minute the hear the shutter. It also seems as if they have run off the Red Bellied Woodpeckers. Used to see them alot but not any more.

Looks like this one is ready for a nap.

    Very nice captures Mike, I really love the colours of the Flickers. Gee I wished the ones we see in the local park would be that low in the branches.

    Really nice light on the flickers. We had a whole family nest nearby last summer, and I am hoping they will return. There were some days that there would be 4 flickers on the ground at a time. I was able to capture a few of them, but none with the nice light you have.
