Gallery Statistics

I am new to this forum, so just point me to the answer already answered.

I posted a gallery 3 days ago and have 11,447 hits in the gallery stats. I photographed 22 people and posted 265 images. What on earth does this math mean? Is it counting the thumbnails, it is counting pages, is it counting uploads, downloads? Where is the stats page tutorial.

Hi Jennifer! Welcome to Dgrin. That seems pretty normal for a public gallery of high school kids. I'm sure the kids have shared the gallery with their family and friends and that can lead to many views. Take a look at this help page on how views are counted and how stats work. http://www.smugmug.com/help/acctreport

Think of it this way, if each of the 22 students viewed each image in that gallery it would be almost 6k views. So 11k in 3 days isn't that unbelievable. Take a look at the help page and if you have any specific questions please let me know.
