Flash for Canon Xsi

I am looking to purchase a flash for my XSi and was thinking about the Canon 430EX-II it's in my price range. Any pros or cons is there another flash I should also be looking at thanks for any sugguestions..:D

While the build quality is not as good as the 430EX/II and the user interface takes some getting used to, the Sigma flash has more power, better E-TTL II integration, manual operation (full down to 1/64th power). It can also serve as either master or slave in a wireless configuration (used with a second Sigma or capable Canon). They also have a built-in optical slave for use in manual mode. I have 4 of previous models and I like them a lot.

I agree, Sigma is a good alternative. Latest Sunpaks look attractive, too.
