Back in February, I started a tread where I asked for advice as to which camera to buy.
I received excellent responses from all of you to the point that, after extensive research and getting the appropriate permission from the BOSS (the wife) I decided to go with the Nikon d7000 which is the advice received from all of you.
The problem is: Where are they? both BH Photo and Adorama have then in back order and BH is not even taking reservation. Those anyone have an idea when the camera will become available? Could it be that the terrible earth quake that affected Japan is having an impact? I was under the impression that Nikon cameras were made in Thailand.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Amazon claims to have some available, both body alone and with a kit lens, both pricey. Not my first choice but ...
Ritz Camera claims to have several of the "kits" available. You could buy a kit and sell the lens.
Ryther Camera claims to have the camera alone and a pretty good price. I've never heard of them but they do have good Google and ResellerRatings:

In the US the camera is being sold for US 1,199.95, which is what I paid to BH photo.
Why you don't try to order it via the Internet? Can it be done from your county?
Joe
Because the sneaky people at customs will stop it on the way in and charge me duty negating the saving.
I'm just being impatient
I feels solid and it is a little heavier than my D80 but not by much. I am planning to do a "photo expedition" for this weekend. I see if I can post some photos sometime next week.

Congratulations on your new camera. Can't wait to see your photos.

This was taken in my backyard. Quality = Fine, ISO = 100, F 5.60, S 1/200, WB = Auto (I forgot to changed it to something else) At 200mm.
The lens in use is the Nikon 18-200mm
I tried to upload the other 3 photos by the system is not allowing me to do it. What I am doing wrong?
Thanks
Joe
The low resolution of the upload is making the photo look soft... or is it really soft?
Sorry it took me so much time to upload the photos as I promised, but I had a bit of difficulty posting the photos, but thanks to the heroes at Smugmug I have finally figure out how to do it.
So here they are. These photos have not been change in any way except to make them acceptable to this forum.
These were taken using a 18-200mm lens
