Thinking about buying a used one (from someone I trust) to use as an on location off camera flash. Good idea? I like that it has more power than my sb-600 which when shot through a softbox doesn't do the trick for me and without the softbox I hate the harsh light. Anyone use this flash have any advice. I am assuming I can put it on a stand and use a softbox. Still doing some research..

Thanks!

i own 2 of them..love them...have power out the wazoo.....mine were used for years for wedding and location shoots......I am getting ready to photograph mine and put up for sale with quantum battery packs and chargers.....as I have become addicted to my SB900's and want more.

Besure you are NOT connected to them with a PC cable as it could blow your camera, use a remote trigger like the ebay RD616 (16 channel radio triggers, can be found for under$50 for a set of 2 or 3, been using mine for over 2yrs now)...............

Thanks, Art. Why do you like the SB-900's better? Do you use softboxes with your Sunpak?
