Structure & Form (F717)

I've left people alone for a bit and started photographing buildings. I'm not a bit fan of capturing the building as a whole but rather its anatomy (if you will). The form, shapes and lines of the structure is really what makes the building what it is.

Tell me if i've succeeded or at the very least, show them in an unique perspective. I have to admit, after only 2 buildings, I was running out of different styles to shoot just by standing under a building. Hopefully reading that new composition book i bought will help icon10.gif

All comments welcome.

Got couple of more shots here: http://onewaymule.smugmug.com/gallery/847094/1/38056071

btw - if you know of any photographer who shoots architecture with an uncommon angle/composition then please share :)

These are really nice, I had a crack at doing a few Quite some time ago but not nearly as good as yours.

I especially like No.3, but funny enough prefer it rotated to landscape format.
No.2 is good but can't help thinking it may have been even better if you had got the building in 50% of the width.

Great shots all round though thumb.gif

The way the lines converge is really cool, I love the way the angles seem to change when you scroll through. clap.gif

They move in a very cool way when you scroll. I love them all well done. Great abstractsthumb.gif

I didnt see that about the 3rd one... i saw it side ways and you're right, it works. I'm glad you like that one cos i reluctantly chose to work on it.

As for #2, i was thinking the same thing when i was processing it. Unfortunetly i didnt crop any of these so thats all of it.

    Appreciate your input mate thumb.gif

These buildings really dont standout amongst others but i couldnt help but marvel at the precious when i saw them on the laptop screen. Esp. the first one, just a slight upward turn on the Curves and it looks like a 3D rendition made on a graphing program.

    Appreciate the comments!

I like #2 as is. I think the empty space works well here as a contrast against the building. The first 3 shots are great! clap.gif

I agree with Snaphappy's comments. Great shots and angles.
