I recently got an email from a Kathy Lagoli. The subject was "photos by e.b. west : photo keywords : balloons | smugmug" and it was asking me about some photos I have of a balloon festival. The message was very short and asked if I would like to talk on the phone about the pictures. I sent an answer saying "Sure, send me your number". Since then I have gotten 3 more emails from the same person but from different return URLs asking if I was still in business. The last one said something about having the wrong email address.

I felt something was wrong with the first email because of the way it asked or at least implied that I should send them a phone number. I'm not a pro so I don't get many of these requests so it seemed a little odd. I'm just passing the info along in case it is somebody gathering phone numbers for some reason, and I'm posting it here since she apparently got my name from Smugmug. If this is normal then just disregard the post.

Your name is on your site, including a contact form. I'm pretty sure that's how this person contacted you, no?

Sure, there would be numerous ways. The contact isn't the point, I just thought it was strange enough to let others know about it. Like I said, maybe this isn't that unusual, if not, just disregard it.
