Smugmug Custom Host name

Hi all

I have been using smugmug for a while now. Love the site and have put a lot of time in to SEO etc.

My question....my web address is mjlphotographics.smugmug.com. Id like to use a custom host name i.e remove the .smugmug.com and just have mjlphotographics.co.uk.

I own the domain mjlphotographics.co.uk however am I correct in saying that if I change address with smugmug all my previous SEO work and links to my site will be dead? Or will mjlphotographics.smugmug.com still remain?


Should I just leave it or can i change it without many issues? Also should I avoid setting up a site page with www.mjlphotographics.co.uk and linking it to go to www.mjlphotograhics.smugmug.com?

You nickname address will always work.

Hi,

As Allen said, your nickname, mjlphotographics.smugmug.com, will always work. I see you have added your domain name and it is correctly setup. Your SEO work will be safe, adding a domain name will not disrupt it.

You can't have a domain name pointed at your SmugMug site and at another webpage.
