Way too open question. What printer do you have? Is it using dye based or pigmented ink?

What look feel result are you looking for? Bright vivid punchy, or more of a matt fine art look? Are you looking for budget paper of the finest of the fine?

I have an Epson Photo 1280 wide format printer. I really do not know what finish I prefer because I have never had any printed out. I do know I don't like the glossy shiny type though. Not sure about dye or pigmented ink.
Sorry if I sound kind of dumb about this but I really have not messed with my printer that much other than to print out scrapbook pages. The money really doesn't matter as long as it is good quality.

Your printer is an older model and uses dye based inks. It's important when buying paper. Some paper will work with both others only with type they are designed for.

Try Red River Paper, Hahnemuhle paper, (any others you can think of) buy a sample pack, and test them for yourself.

I have printed on my Epson R220 and 1400 for just everyday prints, sometimes when I do not have time to go through a lab for photo competitions . I have really liked the Premium luster papers from Epson for landscapes. Matte works well for B & W
my wife likes gloss for her grandkids pictures. I have mostly stuck with Epson papers just due to the profiles for the printer are already there and I do not have to spend time messing with paper profiles. The cost is reasonable too The premium line of papers is good stuff.
There are so many options out there. When I need really good stuff I have the lab print them(Bay Photo)
