I love the dead tree thread that was started recently. How about a thread of piers at the ocean? This is Ventura Pier in California.

Not a pier on the same magnitude as most here, but it's still a pier.
Thanks for comment Bruce, I got very lucky with the light that morning (made it worth the 3.15am wake up to make it to the beach in time for sunrise).

I think that is my favorite so far. Way cool.

Well I submitted a shot to the dead trees so thought it would only be fair to add one to the piers thread.
This was shot at sunrise looking over Lake Michigan from the Wisconsin shoreline in early January. And yes, it was very cold.
