When ever I see this -- the urge to help it peel off is so strong, but I leave it alone :D

Thank you .. #2 is my favorite too :D I try not to have the subject in the center, but to my eyes this seemed to work ok.

I really like #2 as well, Mary. #1 is a little too "abstract" for me, but I love the light and textures in #2!

I like the second one the best......I think more depth of field on the first one would have made for a better shot............:Dgary

    Thank you ... :D

Your thinking is right about #1. It is somewhat abstract. Something is missing in that one .. just can't figure out what it is headscratch.gif

#2 seems to be the 'one' :D

As for the first shot .. something is off on it. I'll try to re-shoot it and see if I can improve it. I'll go alone this time. Had the dog with me pulling to keep moving vs stopping to concentrate on photo taking. Girl dogs have no interest in trees rolleyes1.gif

With that title, I was certainly expecting something else! rolleyes1.gif

I always like these bark shots! The second one is wonderful, Mary.

Aren't bark shots fun to do. Took a look again at this tree tonight, but the lighting wasn't right.

    Thanks for commenting :D

I think gary pegged the problem Mary. There is only a very small vertical strip in sharp focus and you are missing out on some potentially nice texture in the OOF area on the left. Also the two toned bg on the right is distracting. Cloning out the light blue area and replacing it with the darker tone would help as well.

    BTW I too like #2

Thanks Jack for the input. You and Gary are correct. I'm waiting for the right light to do a redo. The background on the first photo is a house sitting really close to the tree. I won't give up tho :D
