Natural selection is responsible for every living thing that exists.

Yep, the 70-200 f/2.8L IS is a workhorse!
I used a Canon 300 f/2.8 and Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 for a while, and they were nice, but too limiting for my needs. I had to have two cameras on me that way. Turned out that the 70-200 and if need be, the addition of the TC 1.4 was all I normally needed.
BTW, in case you ever need this little nugget of wisdom; NEVER get in an arena shooting bull riding while lugging around one of those big, heavy lenses!!!
And no, don't ask me how I know

It's just about what tools you need for the job Gary, nothing more...
Thanks
We've had some good times together...
Well, if you klonked an obstreperous beast between the eyes with a 400mm f/2.8, you'd maybe buy yo'sef some time rofl

I just wanted to award you 3 bonus points towards whatever it is you may need bonus points towards for being the first person to say 'obstreperous' since my grade school english teacher used it as one of those 20 vocabulary words we had to memorize every week.

The 24-105 does extend when zoomed.
I've owned the 85 f/1.2 three times now, and I can't find one that will give me 100% focus consistancy, so the 85 f/1.8 it is!
