Moving a gallery

Hi:

I just uploaded a smattering of pics from a shoot to my smugmug site. They should have gone to the Events section, as I thought I specified, but instead they're under an "other" gallery. How do I move it over to an Event, which is how I have the site set up for people to see their shots?

I'm not having any luck getting into the gallery either... a bit new to smugmug, can you tell? :dunno I've not had this problem w/ uploading before, everything just goes to the event that I tell it to... ugh.

Any help would be appreciated.

Michael

    Hi Michael,

While logged in, if you browse to the gallery you want to move and click on Tools>This Gallery>Gallery Settings then you can find the heading "Essentials". There you can change the Category to any that you have already created. Once you Save it the Gallery will be moved to the Category you chose.

    Hiya Nick:

Thanks for the quick reply. Well, truth be told, I can't even see the gallery. The only reason I know it exists is that when I go to "upload," it's listed as a gallery under "other." But I can't see any option to go see it... My options are "Home, Portfolio, Events, About" and then I have the smugmug customizing buttons when i'm logged in ("upload, tools, etc") but I can't figure out how to display that gallery so that I can do what you describe. It's driving me mad!

Have you hidden the galleries / categories page without making it available to yourself when you are logged in?
Make sure that your homepage layout has gallery categories enabled. Someone can help you hide them to not logged in viewers if that's what you want.

It's very difficult to help if we can't see your site. Please add your site URL to your signature so it is always available to the helpers here. Click You! on the dgrin navbar above, then Edit Signature.
