A 3D Tulip

I just learned how to do 3D images! It's quite good fun!

To view this, look at the images below, relax and sort of "de-focus". Allow yourself to go cross-eyed until the 2 images overlap in the centre (make sure you are viewing it level). If you relax enough, and do it slowly, you end up with a 3D image between two out-of-focus images. Once you can see it, you can look around the 3D image quite easily...

Bonus image...my daughter. Tried doing people...they move. Annie moved her big toe on her right foot, so it looks strange when viewing 3D. The rest of her is good, though. :)

Should I be up close, far away or normal desk sitting distance? I'm trying to get it to work like those old magic eye posters that were popular back in the day but I'm not getting it. I started off with my face right up on the monitor and slowly pulled my head back while kind of going crosseyed and it's starting to work, but the image isnt converging far enough.
Could you maybe make them smaller so it would be easier to get the 3d effect? Or am I just sucking at this?

Edit: my girlfriend just tried it too, we both tried different distances up to about 5 feet and neither one of us got it to work.

To get your eyes to cross it can be helpful to hold 1 finger close to your nose and try to concentrate on that first. Once the eyes are crossed, shift your focus to the computer screen but keep the eyes crossed. A single 3-d image should form in the middle beyond your finger.

I can see them about 12 inches from the screen. If you need to make them smaller, hold down CTRL and scroll with the mouse wheel...the image will grow or shrink depending which way you scroll. :)

If you start going crosseyed slowly you might see each image moving towards each other...try to get a reference point that is the same and gradually bring the two images together until they overlap. Make sure you, and your screen are level...I had that problem first time! Once you get it, it's a revelation. :)

I tried a few more...the wife thinks I am crazy, but I think I am hooked on this.
How do these look? (Apologies to those that can't do it, but you could try...some of these seem easier to "get")
