Street Photography With a UWA? Surely Not...

    Well sure, why not? :D But these don't really have an ultra-wide look. If you get much closer to your subject, things can get really interesting. thumb.gif

    Absolutely! Wide angle is great for getting in closer.

    And, an ultra wide angle is extremely challenging because it can give you an image containing an enormous amount of material with a 'focus.' Just having a wide angle of view doesn't really add anything to an image. And while getting close is great, you then have to be super aware of distortion, and whether it adds or detracts, and what you may be including in the image that you don't want. ;-)

    Apologies for not having visited for a few days and thanks for looking and commenting. Generally, for street photography, I found I had a far greater ratio of photos I had to throw away when using my 9-18 lens. As for distortion? That can be funky:
