Hello folks. Some of the local chicks and young juvenile birds. It's always a wonderful thing to see all the baby birds being introduced in to the neighborhood.. :barb Thanks for looking.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Hi Pam. Sorry...forgot to answer you. Senior moment. rolleyes
Yes the chicks/juvies have the red/orange colored eyes and they change over time as the bird matures. You will also notice the brown backside feathers have a very nice looking white pinstripe around the tail edge of the feathers on teh young birds. This thin white edge to the brown feathers vanishes with age as well. They sure are cute when they are young.
Here is a shot from a couple days ago. They sure do grow up fast. You might notice the white marks on the top side ofthe young bird. Not quite ready to fledge yet but they sure think they can fly. They practice take off and landing over the nest. It's a lot of fun to watch. The older young seem to taunt the youngest chick that can't "fly" yet. It's terrible.
