I had posted a while back about the photo contest that I entered. I place Best Overall Runner Up (2nd Place) in Ducks Unlimited Magazine Photo contest. My picture will published in the May/June Edition of Ducks Unlimited.
Thank you all for you help and support I have had on this Forum.

Here is the link for the online version of the magazine which was just posted.

Congratulations on the win clap.gif. Love the picture - especially the golden colour and the reflections.
Have checked the magazine and personally much prefer your photo to the winning photo - especially as you have real ducks not decoys.

15524779-Ti.gifThe detail & color tones in your photo are superb! It must have been the story behind the other shot that won it.

As I've (almost) given up nature photography, I've seen a lot of duck shots, but this is one of the best. Excellent shot, and if there was ever a visual definition of golden hour, this is it.

I also prefer your shot to the winner. A photo of decoys wins over the real thing?

Thank you all for the kind words. AS we all know photo contests can be head scratchers headscratch.gif at times.
I am just thankful to have made it into a magazine that I have enjoyed since I was a kid.
When I started looking for shots I looked back through my collection and saw this one. Shot in 2008 I had not paid it much attention when I originally gone through the shots. Shot in a photography blind at Colusa National Wildlife refuge.
But as I said having gone through the DGRIN Challenges school I had a different eye when going back and weeding through shots in the archives. I noticed it big time the color and poses of the birds. Did some post on it and I liked it. I am glad the judges did too. Cant wait til next year to try my luck again.
