SmugMug coupon code question

I did some searching and found a coupon code that reduces 20% from your first annual order. For the power package that would amount to 12$.

However, if I put down my own referral code, I would get 5$ reduced now and would earn a $10 referral credit for my next annual purchase, amounting to 15$.

Does it work that way?

Yes, if you refer yourself with your referral code from your other account, it would give you $5 on your new account and add $10 as a referral credit on your other account. Referral credits can be used for upgrades, renewals or gift accounts (Gift of SmugMug).

I meant the referral code from the same account.
The code gets accepted and the 5$ removed without any trouble. Question is if I would be getting the 10$ referral credit even though it's the same account.
