Moving photos from one gallery to another

I use LightRoom3 to upload/publish photos to Smugmug. I found some pictures in A-gallery does not belong to it. I moved those pictures from A-gallery to B-gallery by drag&drop on LR3. Then clicked "Publish". All the pictures started uploading again and I ended up with the same photos in both A and B galleries. No change has been made to the photos. In general, how do I move photos between galleries without having to uploading again?

You do that on Smugmug, not in LR. Apparently, the LR publish option isn't smart enough to recognize a "move".

In a gallery, select Tools/Many Photos/Move to Gallery, select the desired photos to move, then select the destination gallery.

Thanks for your prompt response, John.
I started using Smugmug service not long ago. Still in learning mode. I'm wondering if there is a Organizing tool like Windows File Explore that you can select multiple files(photos) and copy or move to the desired destination folder (gallery)? I know we can do it on Smugmug web GUI but it is not as fast and easy if you have thousands for pictures. A lot of times I go by file name instead the thumbnails.

Smugmug isn't very advanced for rearranging across galleries - it's definitely better to get it arranged the way you want to present on the web before you upload. They have the basics of moving photos from one gallery to another or from one to several different galleries, but it isn't a drag/dopr explorer type of UI. There is drag/drop for rearranging within a gallery.

One thing they do have is virtual galleries. You can create a virtual gallery that displays photos by keyword and then any photo you tag with that keyword will just automatically show in that virtual gallery (as an additional view of the same photo). It's not drag/drop, but you can just add/remove keywords to change where a photo is presented.
