OK, so the fires weren't completely out, but they were dying down. I was driving home from work, admiring God's work, when I thought. Dang, I wish I wasn't on the freeway and could get a decent shot of this.
So I called Nikolai and said, "Dude, get your butt out the door and shoot the sunset." He mumbled some lame excuse about not having enough time to get to a vantage point before it was over.
So, throwing caution to the wind, I said, "To heck with that. I'm gonna shoot that sunset right here on the Ventura Freeway (Right by the 405 interchange for you locals).

My SO was coming as we were speaking.. She would have me for dinner if I screwed it up..
Besides, I was right - it was over in 5 minutes, I wouldn't be able to get out. Tried that before, trust me.
Next time call me earlier, please!:D
Great shot!
