I hate being the bearer of bad news, but in my (all too recent and all too many times) experience, this is a precursor to hard drive trouble.

Mac or PC? On a Mac, you can run the diagnostic disc or utility to test the health of your HDD. Might be able to with PCs, I don't know if you can.

Adobe will likely tell you to drag your preference files to the trash, but that seems to be a band aid, and the problem returns. I hope that you have a better outcome than I.

Bridge crashing has been a recurring problem in nearly every version of Photoshop. If you google the adobe support forums, you will find it is often a problem with a corrupt preferences file and/or the file cache.

Although you re-installed the software, uninstalling often leaves a few files behind in a variety of directories other than the directory where the program was installed.

I can't tell from the version number 2.1.1.9 which version of PS this is, but in recent versions you would hold down the control key as you start up bridge. This would erase the preferences file and hopefully fix the crashing problem.

You should then purge the central cache manually. You can find out where your cache is located by looking under Edit>Preferences>Cache. You would then navigate to this location and delete the cache folder.

Hope this helps! I haven't used Bridge for a few years since I started using Lightroom so I'm doing this from memory :)

    regards,
