The woman looking right at the camera is the one that jumps out at me the most. However, the real focus of the picture seems to be the book. I wonder what it is. The two ladies on the left are looking intently at it and the one on the far right seems to be saying "Hey, I wanna see, too!" That leads me to believe that the book belongs to the lady looking right at the camera.
Richard, you made me think. ;-) I think that means the shot was a success! :-D
Thanks, everyone. I'd also like to know what book it was.
@Juano: The original shot was not blown, but I must have pushed it a little too hard in post. Her hair was completely white and since it was an overcast day, there wasn't much shadow, so there wasn't a whole lot of detail there. Perhaps I'll rework it. Thx for pointing it out.
Like this one a lot! Great emotion and really makes me curious about who they are and what they are reading. I like the way the white-haired women's head stands out against the dark bush behind.
"But ask the animals, and they will teach you." (Job 12:7)
I went back and looked at the original shot and noticed some differences between the final processed version and the way it appears on Dgrin/SmugMug. The white-haired woman is brighter on Dgrin--not sure what's up with that, maybe some resizing artifacts? Dunno. I also tried to read the title on the spine of the book--you know, zooming and enhancing like they always do in the movies--but it was hopeless.

Center two appear to be sisters. Processing is a bit messy when looking at the two on the left.
