The weather was decent yesterday and the boys and some neighbors went out for the first time this year to play in the front.

My husband grew up in this house and he has memories of "manhunt" on the same block but without any fences along the front or back. I'm glad our boys can do something similar. I cracked up at the first shout of "caaaar". I love that about being a kid. It's pretty much the same everywhere.

Great series Liz. #3 has such a great angle/perspective. I love it. I had flashbacks of neighbourhood games of hide & seek as a kid, covering blocks of the neighbourhood, no fences between yards, dogs running free... those were the days. *sigh*

Thank you guys. I never had this as a child, never ever. I had a very different upbringing in Bolivia and running amock on the streets wasn't part of it, so I am completely drawn to these scenes and was glad to have captrued it.
I also was hesitant because I know gun play, even with nerf guns, is looked down on, but the neighborhood boys have an arsenal and I can't help but smile when I see them play and especially when I hear something I've only heard in movies "CAAAR". It really does make me grin like an idiot when I hear that word when they play.

I'm glad you both enjoyed the images.

I enjoy this series. It is amusing to watch the passers-by either with their indignation or ambivalence!

thank you. I have been wanting to catch them doing this for a while.
I took one of the automatic ones (fires about 20 sponge things at the same time) and nailed my sister doing the dishes--I can't tell you how much fun it was!

THe guy in front does look kind of pissed right?
There were also some tourists across the street visiting from Japan (they rented out an apt for their stay) they looked on with some dismay (too bad I couldn't get them in a decent shot).

I think it's a great series.... Reminds me of just playing with friends without the PC to go with the play activity.

Heck, I grew up playing army soldier in the streets and I've not turned out too bad. (...well, that's subject to interpretation I suppose mwink.gif)

A fun series that captures all the fun they are having. If your childhood was lacking, then you have to start shooting the nerfs as well as the photos...

thank you guys--glad this series resonated with many of you.

Angelo, I checked the link. I had one summer of this type of play, the summer I learned English and I played stoop ball and stick ball with boys named, Vinnie, Anthony, and Babolee:). I'm going to order it for my husband, thanks for the link!
