Sb 600

I bought the SB 600 about a year and a half ago. Lately, it seems to have lost power. Most of the shots I take come out too dark, as if there were no flash at all (it's not the batteries).

Any ideas?:dunno

I see you have a D40x, still using it, have you tried a reset on the flash. Do you shoot in TTL or TTLBL, does the D40 have FN capability.

I didn't forget about this, just haven't had time to answer the questions. I'll try to get to it tomorrow. I am now using a D3000 (almost the same thing).

Okay. Yes, I change the EV on the flash every time I use it. I adjust it constantly depending on the lighting situation. No, I haven't changed the Flash Mode on the camera. It's on Auto right now. Normal...no red eye, no front or rear curtain.

    D3000.

The flash worked perfectly the entire time I've had it. This is a recent thing. Adjusting the EV to +0.3 doesn't help. I took some shots at a bridal shower and the lighting was actually better with no flash at all. I didn't have my tripod so they were blurred, but I took them without flash just to test.

What mode do you shoot in?

Tried cleaning the camera mount and flash-foot contacts?
