These are great shots. What was the distance between you two for this picture? I am struggling with exposure on long shots. Again, very nice. Pheasants have awesome color.
Thanks Nixpix.. I was about 15 to 20 feet away from the bird with 420mm reach. In retrospect I wish I had taken the time to remove the 1.4 teleconverter off my 300mm lens but i did not know how long the pheasant would stay. Add to that I was in the bush and could not move back readily without making a lot of noise .The leaves had not come out on the trees so I had a little more light then I would have had had it been summer.
These two pics turned out. I took a lot of shots and most turned out pretty poor.
