This bridge is the only physical connection between Hayling Island and the mainland at Langstone. The waterway links Langstone Harbour with Chichester harbour.

I checked the tide times and weather conditions and all was favourable for a dawn shoot.

All taken, hand-held, with the Olympus E5 + Zuiko 12-60mm lens. There are rather a lot of photos but they are a sequence showing the changes in colour that take place in the brief period just before sunrise and as the sun breaks the horizon. The yellow colour only appears for a short time before it is swamped out.

    Good morning Brad,
Thanks for your reply and comments.
There is something special about the dawn. Too early to have experienced the hustle and bustle of daily life, peaceful surroundings with little distraction and beautiful, soothing lighting:ivar. I have just talked myself into making this into a more regular event:D.

I love soft, quiet mornings like this, too. You're lucky to have been in such a beautiful place for it! My favorite is the first.

Thank you schmoo. This was one of those special moments where everything came together well. I am trying to think of another challenge to plan for.
