85mm. Canon 1.8 or Sigma 1.4?

I have major lens issues. I would really love to have another fast 1.4 but the Sigma is twice the price and have heard and read about them being a little soft wide open. Im being steered towards the attractive price of Canon's 1.8. It would keep me closer to getting a 70-200 before my wedding season starts.

Has anyone had both that would like to comment on?

I own the Canon and rented the Sigma for a week and in my opinion the Sigma is the way to go. The construction is far and away better than the Canon EF. I did a quick adjustment to match it up with my camera via micro adjust and the Sigma performed wonderfully.
