Rolex Kentucky 3 Day 2011
This is kind of a preemptive post. I know in the past a few Smuggers and DGrinners have gone to Rolex. I'm make the trek back to Kentucky again this year. Anyone else planning to go? I'm not working this time, just having fun. I skipped WEG and I'm really looking forward to seeing all of the work they've done. I'll be armed with photo and video cameras but will focus on fun instead of footage.
Anyway, I hope to add photos to this post Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (I'll be driving home on Sunday after stadium). I'd love to see other people post in this thread, too.

and I do believe its true.. that there are roads left in both of our shoes..
Thanks Mark! I did have a nice time and I have the sunburn to prove it! Despite the terrible storms on Wednesday night the grounds were in great condition and the weather during the day on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday was terrific! Probably the nicest weather I can ever remember for the whole Rolex event.
I definitely missed have credentials though! When I bought my seating tickets I didn't realize that they moved the grandstands from the lake side to the opposite end so, I was on the wrong side of the arena according to the sun. Oh well!

*gasp* how could she! Nah, driving down for just one day is a lot of time/money and I hear the online coverage was pretty good, too! Maybe you'll get down there another year?
Things to know for x-country:
A) If possible do a course walk ahead of time so that you can learn the course and stake out some good spots.
Get there early if you want to be in a popular location like the Head of the Lake.
C) Be prepared for rain. I carry some duct tape (Gorilla tape, really) and plastic bags. Cheap and easy! Wear waterproof boots and/or make sure your footwear is comfortable.
D) Bring water to drink as you likely won't be near concessions and even if you are water is $3 a bottle.
