Dilemma with duplicate images and the Delete Many Photos interface

I've been uploading photos using both the HTML5 and Simple uploaders to add several hundred files to a single album. Unfortunately neither have been 100% accurate in preventing duplicates from being uploaded (these are files with identical filenames).
I'd like to use the Delete Many Photos interface to delete my duplicates, but I'm having a dilemma related to how this interface is designed...
So while I'm able to Delete Many Photos at a time, I'd essentially be doing it blind since there's no other information to tell me which duplicate I'm actually flagging for deletion, nor if associated SmugVault files would be deleted in the process.
Is there a workaround for this?
Thanks!

- Of the duplicate photos, I want to delete only the older duplicates, and keep the newest version uploaded
- I don't want to delete any images which have SmugVault PSD/TIFF files associated with it.

To only delete older duplicates, you could change the gallery to 'auto sort by date uploaded' in the gallery settings. That should display them in the same order in the delete photos tool. That should allow you to pick the correct photos.
The delete many photos screen currently doesn't offer the SmugVault icons. But in combination with the auto sort setting mentioned above and another browser window showing the gallery (arranging both windows to show side by side), you should be able to make your selection relatively fast.
