Hi all--
This is my second post and want to convey again how much I'm enjoying this website. I wanted to post my Lower Falls photo for critique. I love it-- so I guess that's all it really needs-- but was wondering in a techincal sense what should be done differently. The day I shot it, the sky was mostly cloudy with the sun peaking out every so often. When it peaked out and showered te falls with its light, I snapped the pic. Any thoughts?
I forgot to metion the exif-- taken with a fujifilm S602Z. I believe the day was sept 1, 2004

of the park. The upper falls is about a hundred feet high and the lower,
about 300.
In this shot, the falls and surrounding rock are nicely lit. But the large areas of
darkness distract from this otherwise nice shot. Some creative levels should
help this out.
Using your image, I tried a couple of very quick photoshop things. First, using
the color range tool, I made a layer from the areas that were darkest. Then
increased the levels. Then, I flattened the image and repeated the process
using the brightest parts of the image.
This would work better using the original image.
Thanks for posting this nice shot of the Lower Yellowstone Falls.
