    Very nice captures.

Glad to see someone else takes advantage of the wonderful birds at Fort Desoto. Reminds me I need to get back out there again soon.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

#4 is terrific, the shade technique isn't one I see too often in bird photos.

Nicely done Glenn. Great variety of birds you found and captured. Ft. Desot is a wonderful place and the birds are usually very cooperative. Too bad it's not closer to me.. I'd visit a lot more. I'll just have to do with the osprey nests. :-) Keep up the good work.

Thanks Dennis! I really like shooting there too. Unfortunately it was swamped for Easter holiday.

    Hi Glenn,
Very nice shots. Seems to me you have a lot more photo opportunities there in Florida than in your old stomping grounds in So Cal, where we are just beginning to get the spring/summer build-up of birds at Bolsa Chica.
    Best wishes,
    John

Thanks Mike! Its a three hour drive for us, depending on traffic. still wish it was closer.

You're in Florida, Glenn ? I was thinking you were a Westy ? 3 hours is 3x farther than I am. I'm just down near Sarasota / Venice. It is however a very long bicycle ride or boat ride. eek7.gifscratchrolleyes1.gif

Thanks John! Actually it is about the same. We got a good mix of birds in So Cal.

If you get down this way let me know. I have some good spots. Season is about over this year...but will start up again strong in December. deal.gif

Very entertaining series, Glenn. I love the variety of birds and the shots are amazing. Fort Desoto seems like a really cool place for bird watching. 4th photo takes the cake for me. The bird looks like it's using its wings to cover up from the sun. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Thanks John! Fort Desoto is a great place for bird watching, especially during migration. Reddish Egrets use their wings to shade the water when they are fishing. Makes for some interesting photography.
