My first post here - birds

I already posted those images in the "Other cool shots" as they were taken in a zoo, but they probably somehow belong to the "Wildlife" forum as well... so I though that was a good occasion to post my first thread here.

The pictures have been taken while we were visiting a local kind of zoo, where they have a lot of trained birds and where they heal blessed animals... a good occasion to change a bit from my usual subjects!

Here are a couple of shots that I particularly liked:

During the day they organized also a spectacle with free birds flying around, a quite impressive experience, especially when we had big vultures passing at less then one meter above our heads... at that point I tried to take some shots of the birds in flight, just to find out that its a damn difficult exercise...

I could nevertheless get away with a couple of sufficiently sharp shots. Here they are:

Any C&C is very much appreciated.

Andrea.

I love your shots, in photo #1 the bright white ( probably metal clip ) object under the owl in the background is a bit distracting, it is where my eye is drawn to in that photo.

Thanks for looking and the suggestions! I agree the object is distracting, I have to try to make it less shining...

Usually I would delete the post as you already posted it in another forum but I'm feeling mellow today so I'm letting it slide. Anyhow its a good set of images. I love barn owls and your capture would be greatly improved if you cloned out the OOF owl in the BG. Its way too distracting. I like the B&W conversion on #2.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Ok, no more double posts, I was not aware of the rule...

Thanks a lot for the comments, most probably I'll visit again this place with the family and I'll try some more careful compositions...
