Hello, I'm a pretty experienced photog but I'm very green with this internet stuff. I have a blog and would like to link files other than images (word files, pdfs, photoshop actions, etc) and don't know if this is possible using only smugmug. I'm not interested in saving it in a vault or anything, i just want to allow visitors to the website to download stuff. I have Smug mug pro and a domain from godaddy. I'd do a search, but to be honest i'm not sure of the exact terminology of what you would call what i want to do? File hosting or something? Lol. Man, i suck at the internet. Anyways, thanks in advance.

You can't host other files on smug. You can store files on a site like http://www.dropbox.com/ and make them available from your site by using either HTML-only galleries or by placing HTML in gallery descriptions.

A word document is pretty much a non-starter though since your viewer would need to have word installed in order to read them. A PDF would be a better choice.

Totally agree with Denise here. I have dropbox set up and it works brilliantly. they have a free account so you can have up to 2gb of data on it and you can increase that by signing up new people. I have mine currently at 3gb and tons of documents and stuff on it. If you want to see how i have done mine it is at http://www.phillipcullinanphotography.com/Other/Documents
