A few weeks ago a newly-made friend over at Nikon-Cafe was gracious enough to take me out on his boat to find some birds. This isn't something I'd ever really done before so I was kind of learning as I went.

Anyway, here's the goods. C&C appreciated. These were all taken with my D7000 and either the 70-300VR or the 300 f/4 with 1.3 TC.

Excellent set of images. #1 could use some more room on its left side for the GBH to fly into. IF there's no room in the original you can always add canvas in PS. #2 would have been perfect if it hadn't been so close and you cut off the tips of its feet. Other than those nits its really a fine set of images.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Excellent series of sharp and detailed images. I agree with Harry's cropping remarks, but they are a joy to see!

Thanks everyone. I'm thrilled with the performance of the D7000. The 70-300VR was a nice surprise too. All the Osprey pictures were with it and most of the GBH.

Also, I'll see if I can give the bird in #1 somewhere to go. It shouldn't be difficult.
