Dragons at Last

on friday i saw my first dragons of the year, also watched my first ever emergance

started of at a small pond at churton near chester looking for hairys, had to wade through a field of rape seed :shocked: hate the smell of it!
anyhow first thing i spotted

then my first emergance :handclap watched on/off for about2 hours. dozens of variable damsels emerging everywhere around the pond!
this shot - natural light, 13 frames focus stacked, iso 800, f6.3 because it was quite dull. love my new 100mm L

after this i travelled down to whixall moss on shropshire/welsh border to see what was emerging
beautiful 4 spot! had to chase it over the bogs to get this shot!

then to finish off the day, the first white face darter of the year, spotted 3 males & 2 females

looks like it might be a good season
