Very slow loading of images
For the last 20 minutes or so, I've seen very slow loading of images on many Smugmug sites, including my own and moonriver. I see the thumbnails come in slower than usual and the main image in the smugmug gallery view takes 10-30 seconds to load and occasionally doesn't load at all. Nothing shows on http://status.smugmug.com as of this moment.
That is a BS answer, Andy. The front page of the status blog indicates all is well. Why should we, your paying customers, have to drill drown thru all the organizational levels to learn whether the problem has been acknowledged? Why don't you tag the current "photos" status as busted on the front page of the status blog?
Either use the stupid status blog, or get rid of it. It being (almost) perpetually green is only another frustration for your customers.
Instead of red x's replacing photos I'm seeing pages with my navbar, the gallery title and description, and totally blank space where the photos should be. Yes, the blank space does eventually fill with the expected content, but the performance is quite bad. And honestly, I wouldn't expect viewers to wait for the page to paint, too slow.
I would definitely not consider the problem to be fully fixed.

Same here, using Starexplorer, but doesn't seem all too bad on smugs loader. Then again 3 days for 3000 photos is nuts when other sites (same file sizes) do it less than a day =(
Slowness Internet Related???
I have been having the same problem as most of the preceding users. I am currently on the east coast and have noticed that any web site that I try to reach on the west coast, I encounter the same problem. East coast web sites, are right through and speedy response.
Hey guys and gals, we're seeing some slow image loading and Ops is on the case. They're looking into it but I don't have anything to report besides that yet. If they find anything they'll post it here: http://status.smugmug.com/

http://status.smugmug.com/ is useless. It is not updated promptly with any usable information. As of now, everything is showing GREEN.

It's 4 hours plus of my site not loading. Swell.
I would definitely not consider the problem to be fully fixed.

I decided to run Speakeasy - Speed Test. See: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
Running the tests confirm my earlier results - something amiss between here (NJ) and west coast sites.
I also use http://www.internettrafficreport.com/ as a guide to Internet Status. They are currently showing a 25% packet loss in North America.
Another test source is: http://www.elilabs.com/internet_status.shtml
The above tests are usually fairly accurate. Just my two cents....
