I live up in north east Alberta and it is migration just starting here, I am seeing loons in the cropfields:scratch I have been birding for many years but this is a first. Has anybody seen this before? Things are changing drastically in the last few years, I can go out in the middle of the afternoon and watch great horned [sub-arctic] hunting and eating hawks but a lake bird like the loon in the crop fields [ and more than 1 location] is very odd.
