Nikon D7000, AF tubes 92mm (36 + 36 + 20), Sigma 150/2.8 macro, Raynox DCR-250, SB 600 (home made diffuser) , Manfrotto 330B Macro Flash Bracket, Manfrotto 482 MICRO BALL HEAD and TTL Off Camera FLASH Shoe Sync Cord

This equipment I use to get a magnification 5:1 (I think!?)

5:1 I guess :D

Quality is not at the level of MP-E65 but it will do the job :)

Here is the result

what did you construct the diffuser from? I have to build a wider one and am interested in the materials people use.

To protect the diffuser from the weather (rain, dewdrops) and mechanical damage I used window film :)

I love these home-made diffusers. I use a manufactured thing (Gary Fong) that doubles as a sandwich box for picnics. Home made is much better.:D

Yes. It even has a plastic lid to stop the soup from spilling. How I wish I were a rich photographic accessory manufacturer...

-Thanks! Distance at 5:1 is about 2 inches.

Combination for getting a magnification 5:1 has too many parts so it is best for handheld use.
For tripod I use tubes (36mm), Sigma 150 macro and Raynox DCR-250 (magnification 3:1)
