    You need to change the size in two places in the new URLs: As long as you make the change in both places you can continue to use the custom sizes. The help has been updated to show this - http://www.smugmug.com/help/custom-photo-sizes.

    When I went to share a photo I used to get a URl like:
    ...
    What gives? This really decreases the usefulness of SmugMug for me.

    Sorry to butt in, I was in the same "pickle" as you. I want to display the photo, but when people click on the photo, I want them to go to the gallery at that photo within the gallery.

    Here's what I use:
    <a href="http://photos.foto-biz.com/People/Photographers/16543273_ND7Jp#1263018685_VhpbXnB"
    title="Wildlife Female Photographer">
    <img src="http://photos.foto-biz.com/People/Photographers/i-VhpbXnB/0/L/reifel-20110423-3993-L.jpg"
    title="Wildlife Female Photographer" alt="Wildlife Female Photographer"></a>

    **Wildlife Female Photographer** <font size="-2">click on image for gallery</font size>

    See: http://www.foto-biz.com/Photos/Wildlife-female-photographer for what it looks like

    I go to the photo > Share Button > Get Link > Embeddable link > Blog medium > Copy:

    I get
    <a href="http://photos.foto-biz.com/People/Photographers/16543273_ND7Jp#1263018685_VhpbXnB-A-LB" title="She uses a Canon with a Sigma lens. The vast majority of photographers are male. I can only think of 2 “famous” female photographers from before World War II: Imogen Cunningham Dorothea Lange There are many more, but they didn't become “famous”. Then starting around the 60s women started to break into photography, like Diane Arbus, Annie Leibovitch, Joyce Tenneson… The vast, vast majority of the photojournalists, nature photographers, landscape photographers and sport photographers are males. Where are the women? We need them! Why do we the men need them? Because women offer a different point of view, a different expression, a different sensibility…"><img src="http://photos.foto-biz.com/People/Photographers/i-VhpbXnB/1/M/reifel-20110423-3993-M.jpg" title="She uses a Canon with a Sigma lens. Much easier to just use the Share/Get a Link button and let Smugmug generate the appropriate links for you and you just pick which ones you want.

    Ack
    I signed up just to post here:

    The change to the gallery URL, while nice for linking to individual images has broken linking to galleries in a sensible way. Now instead of sending a link like http://matthyw.smugmug.com/category/sub-category/nice-gallery-name I have to send something like http://matthyw.smugmug.com/category/sub-category/nice-gallery-name/gibberish2342sdf/

    Some sort of push notification of a change with such an impact would have been good. I generally upload work to the site and send a gallery link to the client for them to browse.

    I'm pretty sure that I just lost a new client today because they couldn't get the link to work (they're not the most tech-savvy) as I'd sent them the style that's been in place forever here. Not cool.

    Hi, we announced it a couple + weeks ago on our release notes - which are super easy to subscribe to, please do that so you get notified, thanks! http://news.smugmug.com/2011/04/26/new-urls-better-seo/

    Now, I just navigated your site - for public galleries, you can use links like this: http://matthyw.smugmug.com/Portfolio-and-Favourites/Wedding-Favourites

    Private galleries will always need the extra numbers.
