There are some great weathered planks forming a walkway to the beach in town. Tried shooting them under very flat conditions initially but was not happy with the results. Got some better clouds and ventured out for a reshoot. All shot at 55mm and f/2.8. C/C appreciated

I like the first one best, but wish there was a little more color.

Thanks Scott...I processed it as color and b/w and went with the latter for the contrast it afforded. I wanted it to mostly be a texture shot and b/w seemed to bring that out a bit more. Appreciate your thoughts.

Yep, #1 for me as well and the B+W works great for that shot. I also like the use of DOF in #2.

I like #1 the best also. Nice texture and details. I'm finding that my eye quickly gets drawn to the bright horizon line rather than starting in the foreground and moving back into the picture, which could be faulty eyes on my part. I wonder what darkening the sky somewhat would do?

Good point Tom. I definitely want the eye to stay in the details of the wood planks.... Will give it a try
    Appreciate the thoughts.
