Beautiful picture Lynn, youre making me miss MA! (Boston & Winchester). That looks like a familiar spot near North Andover but I'm sure its one of many places just like it.
Reminds me of Lothlorien from Lord of the Rings. That's a great shot man, and the reflection is great. I'm wondering what it would look like without the branches in the front of the island, and cropping the dark tree to the left out...

Rutt has been nagging me to increase the lab curves.. so I did.. a and b and lightened.. what do you think.. better? the same? worse? I was originally trying to go for a "subtle" color change as fall is only just arriving?:D
I like the 1st version better - the 2nd looks a tad oversaturated to me. I like the composition with the darker trees and leaves bordering the color. Nice capture
Looks lots better to me. Lynn, can you show us your L curve, please?
No I can't rutty dear.. I trashed it. I pulled both the a and b curves in more at each end and uppt the "lighten" channel a bit. Too much I think.. to be honest.. I liket he first one better:D BUT in the original I DID use your lab curves as suggested
What a gorgeous picture, Lynn. I was out in Princeton (MA) on Friday and saw just a little bit of color. Nothing like that. The change really does seem to happen over night. As to which version works best, it is a tossup for me. The enhanced version is stunning and I would definitely use it for making a print. I love the glow in the yellows. But the first one really captures the beauty of the early fall -- before the colors get so achingly beautiful they don't look real anymore. Guess if I had to choose, though, I would pick the more dramatic version. Really nice job.

Fall seems to be slow getting going so far this year.
Cheers!

This is one of those shots that you could turn upside down and it still would look good

I love autumn, the one thing I truly miss about not living on Long Island or New Jersey anymore.
Beautiful photo -- how about some nice close ups of leaves too? Can I place an order?
