    I would consider that fish "caught". Any shots of him trying to down that big sucka??

    He was caught, that's for sure. That lousy GBH didn't like having his pic taken so he flew to the other sid eof the pond outside the range of the 500mm. I quickly popped the TC on but in taht time the GBH sqalloed his catch so no pic of the gulp. :cry

    Man that an ugly fish harry. Fantastic shot though. I was getting ready to go & get some spoonbills this week-end until i remembered i my 400 is away.

    Why am i feeling that i want to shoot birds..am i coming out of the closet ? eek7.gif

    Hey that fish looks like a "Frankenfish" from the SciFi movie I watched, so I'm glad your GBH ate em before he got to BIG!! lol3.gif

    Thanks Al. I have some shots with the feet but then the head is right against the top of the frame, one of the disadvantages of a prime. I was on top of a dike shooting down so I couldn't move closer or further away w/o losing the optimal angle. Having to choose I kept the head and lost the feet.

    Wow Harry that truly is a great shot.Lots of detail thats for surethumb.gif .Just what kind of fish is it ?,Ive never seen anything like that before.I dont think I would want to swim in any water with those in it. Thanks for sharing ...Mike

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for the kind words. I never got a really good look at the fish but I think its a catfish. They are the least of your problems if you want a swim. I would be concerned with the gators and snakes myself.
