Hello, everyone. I've been registered here for some time, enjoying the fine photographs I've seen posted, but I haven't posted anything of my own before. I have to start somewhere so here's a shot from a recent outing in northeastern Arizona.

I know a few of you from other places. I genuinely appreciate criticism and I have a thick skin.

Nothing to be ashamed about here. I like the composition and the sky, but what will really make this image pop is more contrast, and up the blacks a little.

I like the comp and especially the clouds. I agree that more contrast could make this great.

I like your composition, enjoy how the rocks all seem to direct the eye into the image. Sam hit it on the head, it needs contrast, the whole image is mostly light gray. work with curves and get some contrast like you have in the upper left rock. The sky looks like it should respond well to the extra drama created with contrast.

spacefuzz, Doug, thanks. All comments were spot on. I have a weakness when it comes to contrast. Don't know that I'd call it final but here's a redo with more contrast. Thanks very much for the help.

Nice edit. Great composition, leading lines and structure. Those clouds make all the difference.
