A friend of mine wanted a shot like a scene from a music video with bright walls and the reflection of light off a pair of shades. I said "OK lets make it happen". We took a walk next door to a parking garage and found an elevator area with bright fluorescent lights and decided to give it a shot. No strobes and about 60 seconds of PP. This was the result.

I don't shoot people so I was pretty stoked about the result although I think a dose of expression would have made the image more interesting. :dunno

Indeed he does! It's now his Facebook profile image and it's received a lot of favorable responses which definitely helps build confidence in my work.

Now if only I could produce some good portrait shots of myself. rolleyes1.gif

I like it. I think it begs for a square crop though.

I like it, but I would have made your light source appear larger and fill the frames of the glasses.

I didn't even think of that!

I would have liked to have had a larger light source for more reflection off of John's sunglasses. I played around with an SB-600 but wasn't getting the results I was looking for. Could very well have been lack of experience on my behalf.

I also had a difficult time keeping my own reflection out of the shot!
